Online seminars include a combination of lecture, demonstration and practice sessions.
Lectures have a combination of slide show with video overlays of recorded live sessions. Slides include detailed anatomical drawings and photographs with descriptors to teach the anatomical locations of MPT points, the treatment positions and the treatment techniques. The accompanying video/audio provides further information.
This is followed by video demonstrations that elucidate the information in a 3 dimensional format. Demonstrations combine close-ups with larger views to clearly learn the material.
Practice sessions are recommended for the student to practice the points and techniques that have been taught. Students are asked to submit photos of themselves demonstrating the point locations, treatment positions and treatment angles and to fill out a brief questionnaire describing their experience in the practice session. After uploading the photos and questionnaire, students receive personalized feedback from Dr. Finkelstein to help them master the techniques of MPT.
One of the big advantages of online video learning is the ability to replay any video segment for reviewing. This review enhances the learning experience by allowing you to more fully master the material.
You have the option of taking each seminar as Basic or Master. The Master Seminar has 3 additional CEUs. You may upgrade to the Master Seminar at any time.
This seminar is recommended to fully learn MPT. You get the benefit of direct input from Dr. Finkelstein on your point location and use of the techniques.
Following each lecture and demonstration of point location and techniques, there is a practice session for you to practice the points and techniques that have been taught. You will be asked to take photos of yourself demonstrating the point locations, treatment positions and treatment angles. You will also fill out a brief questionnaire describing your experience in the practice session. After emailing the photos to Dr. Finkelstein, you will receive personalized feedback to help you master the techniques of MPT.
At the end of the seminar, you will be asked to submit a case study of 1 patient that you have treated – demonstrating an exam, evaluation and treatment. You will be asked to fill out a questionnaire.
Completing the practice sessions, case study and test are required to receive CEU/PDA credit. Each Master Seminar has 3 more CEUs than the Basic Seminar.
At the end of the Seminar is a test. Completing the test is required to receive CEU/PDA credit. Each Basic Seminar is $60 less expensive than the Master Seminar.
Certification Program in MPT
This indicates to your patients and colleagues that you have fully mastered MPT. To qualify, you need to take all 4 Seminars, live or online, and pass all of the tests and practice sessions in the 4 Master Seminars online.
For those who have taken the Live Seminar and don’t elect to upgrade to the online Master Seminar, you can take the tests online for $30/Seminar. Certification is available after you complete the 4th online test.
Each class has a discussion forum/blog. This is a place for you to ask questions or describe your successes. It is an opportunity for dialog and discussion between students, as well as responses from the teacher. It's also a useful learning tool to review the previous questions and comments that have been posted.
